A Public Future for Sunnyside Yard: Green Building and a Transition to a Green Economy
12:00 p.m. - Lunch
12:30 p.m. - Program
Sunnyside Yard is one of the busiest rail yards in the country, at the center of a rail network that extends throughout New York and the entire Northeast region. The City of New York and Amtrak have led an extensive, community-driven master planning process to establish a framework for decking over the Yard. This would create publicly controlled land that could help meet 21st-century needs both sustainably and equitably.
Join Carlo A. Scissura, Esq., President & CEO of the New York Building Congress, and a panel of advocates and leaders in workforce development to discuss how Sunnyside Yard can catalyze New York’s green economy by driving innovation in building sustainability and preparing the local workforce for a sustainable future.
