“New York’s transportation network is its lifeblood – it is essential not only to the economies of the city and state, but to those of the region and the entire country. The MTA has been there for New York throughout this crisis by providing service to essential workers, and we will need our transit system at full strength to recover. Now, the federal government must be there for the MTA and New York and provide the funding necessary to run the system properly and advance critical infrastructure projects. Investing in infrastructure is a proven way to create good-paying, local jobs and spur economic growth, and with billions of dollars in shovel-ready projects, the federal government must act now.”
