Mayor de Blasio and Governor Cuomo’s 10 Point Plan to Transform MTA
“The New York Building Congress commends Governor Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio for their innovative plan to transform the MTA. New York’s transit system is at the heart of its success, and establishing dedicated funding streams, like congestion pricing, and a ‘lockbox’ for capital construction are critical measures to ensuring growth and stability moving forward. Increasing efficiency is also essential, and through reorganization and enabling the use of alternative delivery methods, such as design build, the MTA will be able to repair and expand its network faster and more effectively. Rebuilding our transit system is a top priority for this region and the building industry must have a seat at the table – the Building Congress and its members stand at the ready to provide expertise and input whenever needed. We look forward to working with the Governor, the Mayor and their administrations in instituting this plan.”
