Building Congress Statement on 2022 Local & Midterm Elections

"The votes have been counted, and we applaud Gov. Hochul for her hard-fought victory," said Carlo A. Scissura, Esq., President and CEO of the New York Building Congress. "She has always been a tireless advocate on behalf of the building industry, lending us staunch support even before she ascended to the highest office in the state. We now pledge to redouble our efforts in assisting her in moving New York ever forward, and upward, with eyes toward job growth, economic prosperity, and new and improved infrastructure. Gov. Hochul, let’s build a new New York, together.

"Congratulations also go to Sen. Charles Schumer (D), State Attorney General Letitia James (D) and State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli (D) for their re-elections. All have shown a true commitment to the working folks of the building industry.

"To all our other newly-elected and re-elected representatives at the state and federal levels, we look forward to working with you as well to build a new New York, together. To our members, with many new faces, and an even split of government power, our advocacy as an organization will be even more critical now in 2023 and beyond. We invite you to join us in urging Washington to deliver on infrastructure funding, and amplify our call for more equity, accessibility and resiliency and in everything we do."
