The New York Building Foundation announced the election of Cheryl McKissack Daniel as Chair of the organization.
McKissack Daniel currently serves as a vice chair of the New York Building Congress Board of Directors and is president & CEO of McKissack & McKissack, the oldest minority/women-owned professional design and construction firm in the U.S.
McKissack Daniel leads McKissack & McKissack with more than 25 years of experience in all phases of the construction industry. She serves as principal-in-charge and project executive on several high-profile initiatives within the commercial, healthcare, education and transportation sectors.
McKissack Daniel also sits on the boards of the New York Women’s Forum, Greater New York ACE Mentor Program and Women’s Builders Council.
Under the leadership of Mayor Bill de Blasio, McKissack Daniel also sits on the OneNYC Advisory Board, Jobs for New Yorkers Task Force and the MWBE Advisory Council.
Prior to these leadership roles, she served on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee for Governor-elect Andrew Cuomo’s Transition Team, as well as the Chair of the MWBE Committee for Philadelphia Mayor-elect John Street’s Transition Team.
During her time in Philadelphia on the National Liberty Museum board, McKissack was honored as a “Hero of Liberty” for her support of humanitarian initiatives and for promoting the responsibilities of a free and diverse America.
